Capt Gary Lavallee - I had the opportunity to take my wife out on "Date Night" last night, and so I did ... to the West Palm Beach Fishing Clubs Monthly Offshore Seminar, with none other than the famous Hawaiian and TV Show Capt Norm Issacs. It wasn't flowers and dinner, but good old Norm is no "Ham Sandwich" either!
Norm told us about his fishing experiences chasing after Blue Marlin for decades from continent to continent. His stories were highly entertaining and filled with all kind of messages of what to do and not to do. His lure selections and eye to detail were what you would expect from such a great fisherman. The West Palm Beach Fishing Club is a great organization to be involved with if you haven't had the chance to scope out. The rest of the years Speaker Schedule is available for download below. I would recommend joining if you haven't done so already.

WPBFC 2011 SPEAKERS SCHEDULE

Capt Ernie Small on the Baby Grand tells me that the action is Exciting!  “We had a number of anglers who caught their first sailfish today!  Wnw winds and heavy cloud cover combined with dense green water influenced our decision to run south of the Lake Worth Inlet in search of the fish.  After setting up both kites, 3-Sails were released and a couple of kings were thrown in the box.  One of the Sails tail-walked for at least 20 seconds before it fell down and started charging back the other way, what a show! After a pause in the action, we hooked another sail that gave us a "reel" challenge getting in. That fish almost ended up on the beach!  As you can see, the sails are here!  4 for 4... A great morning! “ You can book the Baby Grand for a day of offshore fishing by calling 561-722-7279

Capt Bill Taylor on the Black Dog out of the Jupiter Inlet says the Snapper fishing is only O.K., with the Yellowtail looking a little better than over the last weeks; Kingfish scattered out in front of Lost Tree Village in North Palm “among the 8000 boats chasing after them”! Dolphins are moving North quickly as he sees them regularly “zipping” by the boat during his drifts; Sharks are everywhere – once they start coming get out of there as you’re chance of eating a whole fish are over! Lastly, he mentioned the Porgies and Triggerfish bite has been really good north of the Jupiter Inlet, if you know which species to keep as they can be really good table fair if you know which ones to keep. You can fish out of Jupiter on the Black Dog by calling 561-744-5700

The in-Famous Harry Schaffer at the Grand Slam Jupiter tells AskYourCaptain that the Sailfish bite is still on; Cobia bite north of the Jupiter Inlet up towards Pecks Lake; the Kingfish are around but are smaller than last week’s catch; and his Customers are catching a few Dolphin in no definite pattern anywhere from 70ft – 600ft of water.

Chris over at Fishing Headquarters told AskYourCaptain that the Sails are starting to bite again as of Wednesday. Dolphin bite is good in 225 plus feet of water … look for the Blue Water. Big body of Kings still hanging out in front of Lost tree at the drop; Mutton’s are still chewing with water temperatures around 70 degrees; Big Pompanos being caught off the beach using cut-Claims or Fresh dead Shrimp. This past weekend the Cobia bite was strong north of the Jupiter inlet with a number of large catch’s reported up to 60 lbs. Don’t forget to tune into the Fishing Headquarters Saturday Morning Radio show for more up to date information.

Capt Lee Egan on the Sea Horse Adventures out of Riviera Beach says the Snapper bite is just O.K. but nothing exciting as to what Capt Lee expects in the Palm Beach Waters. A few nice Muttons and Porgies since the Seas have laid down; however water has been green inside. Tough and Slow goes the bottom fishing, having to move from “Rock to Rock” has been the play. Good things are coming any day … and that day could be tomorrow! You can book Capt Lee by calling 561-254-5124. He’s a drift boat and can take just you, or you and your friends.

Capt James Fedora mentioned that The Sail Fish Bite Has moved South earlier in the week, but should be back, and the Spinner Sharks Have Invaded! Mutton Snapper Bite is starting to pick up and the King Fish continue to be abundant in 80 to 90 ft across from the Juno Pier. If your looking for a Charter boat in Jupiter? Consider Game On Charters.
