COLD WATER SLOWED SNAPPER BITE THIS WEEK ....
Captain Lee Egan out of Riviera Beach on the Sea Horse Adventures ... A lot of Kingfish are still out in the deeper water at the drop with an on again and off again bite. Snapper fishing has been slow due to the batch of cold-water that has engulfed our Coastal waters. A few Cobia's around in the deeper 100 ft waters with the Sea Horse bringing in a few this week up to 30-lbs. You can book Capt Lee by calling 561-254-5124. He’s a drift boat and can take just you, or you and your friends.
The in-Famous Harry Schaffer at the Grand Slam Jupiter tells AskYourCaptain that the Customer reports have been few leading into today. The Kingfish bite is still on with better results seeming to come from live bait. The Cobia bite reports have slowed inshore, and he hears the Bottom bite is a little on the slow side due to the Cold Water down at the Bottom where all those nice tasty Bottom fish live.

Chris from Fishing Headquarters tells AskYourCaptain that the Pompano are biting in the River and Intracoastal from Marker 40 to 50 at first and last light on "Goofy Jigs" (only sold locally at Fishing Headquarters). Lots of Sharks out there taking care of any inshore bites you may be able to haul off of the cold-water bottom.
Capt Bill Taylor on the Black Dog out of Jupiter sums it up in one word ..."temperamental". His advice is fish further inshore closer to land than usual for the Snappers, as they are more apt to bite versus all the Snappers you may see on your Fish Plotter further offshore. He says he's marking them Offshore, but the bite is tough. Find the warmer water and you'll have a more active day.The Kings are still with us, however the bite is on again - off again out deep across from the Juno pier. On a personal note he was able to take the afternoon off and do a little surfing up in Hobe Sound, however he ended up getting chased out of the water as the Sharks were a little more of a force than he wanted to deal with! You can fish out of Jupiter on the Black Dog by calling 561-744-5700
Capt James Fedora out of Jupiter didn't get a chance to get out this week but made a point to mention that a few of the better fisherman out of his marina have been doing good with the Cobia just South of the Jupiter Inlet off of the beach.
